Cinema- A Visual Art

Cinema is a visual art which reproduces the raw emotions and experience, beauty and the darker side of the life and communicates with millions. For me, cinema is not only a source of entertainment but also a continuous process to identify myself with the story or the character. Like, when I saw Erin Brokovich, I could see myself in the vulnerability and fierceness of Erin. Her fight, her righteousness, her success -- as if I can see a part of my life in that story, I could have been there...just like her. Aah.. Forget it...move on. There are many more in the list-- I wish...I wish...

Today I am going to share with you my three favourite movies - Harry Potter series, The Hundred Foot Journey and Bohemian Rhapsody. Let’s start with Harry Potter series. I love wizards and magic. Harry Potter series is first of this kind where a generation grows up along with the main Characters. My kids were small then. And seeing Harry and his friends were their favourite pass time, and mine too. Ron was so quite with golden hair, Hermione with her stubborn look and Harry as naive as he can be. They grew up and so my kids. The chocolaty cuteness faded away and unruly new beard started taking place. It was fun again to see them, through their characters, through their personalities. Harry Potter series is one of a kind, which is never going to fade away. The charm it has created, like a unbroken spell of Maleficent. Even today also, when I see any movie from the series, never felt bore or worn out. Hagrid, Snape, Damboledore and how could I forget Circus Black-- wow dear. The gallore, the bravery and the sorrows echo in my heart. The storyline, cinematography, VFX, music, costume and characterisation -- everything just happened to be perfect for me. I am an utmost Potter fan ❤️

Now come to The Hundred Foot Journey- a film from 2014. It’s about cooking, passion and pure rivalry between two restaurants and how they bond over the same passion they shared -- the cooking. An Indian family migrated to France and opened a restaurant over there. But they are not alone in the business. If you love cooking, this film is for you. Your passion, dedication and thrive to do better every time can take you to the top. Hassan shims you the way. If you are right, your rival also bows down to you and guides you to your destination. Watch it for pure joy...no string attached. A marvellous performance by Om Puri, Helen Mirren, Manish Dayal and Charlotte le Bon are to look out for. There is love, conspiracy, little sting of jealousy and determination to weed out every possible hurdle with grace. And even at the pick of success, Hassan didn't forget his family, his root, his mentor and love. That's where the film stands out with drama as a film, a complete package.

Last but not the least, Bohemian Rhapsody. This film released in 2018. The film is about legendary British music band Queen and also about the lead singer Freddie Mercury's personal struggle. Every song is so loud to settle deep inside my heart. The "Love of my life” is so close to my heart that no "under pressure" can take it away. As Queen says, "we are the champions, my friends" and "we will, we will Rock you" and absolutely, they did rock us, swing us with the music and rolls. If you love rock and drama from real life, this film is definitely for you. Rami Malek, Ben Hardy, Gwilym Lee, Joseph Mazzello gave stupendous performance. As if they have synched into the original character skin, specially, Rami as Freddie Mercury. I grew up listening under pressure and we will rock you. Queen is addiction; queen is passion and many more. The songs drive me crazy, insane but not any lunatic. I am wrapping up today a with some lines from Queen's we are the champions- "I've paid my dues
Time after time,
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
 I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face But I've come through".
